The go-anywhere yacht for go-anywhere people
Bestevaer yachts combine high performance with gorgeous functional design. Able to withstand the world’s toughest conditions, it’s no wonder that the Bestevaer has become the boat of choice for explorers, scientists, and adventurers of all kinds.
The Bestevaer is a spectacular amount of boat to take on a true adventure.
BESTEVAER SAILBOAT MODELS
Bestevaer sailing yachts are simply stunning to behold. Their balanced sheer and fine entry are accentuated by a plumb bow and pilothouse, giving a sense of power and comfort. Attention to details during build and the consideration of every design element combine to create the best aluminum sailing yachts in the world. Not only can every Bestevaer carry her owners as safely in cold climates as the tropics, they are also a joy to sail in every condition.
BESTEVAER 45 S/Y
An aluminum sailboat that can be sailed anywhere short-handed. A pilothouse sailboat designed by Gerard Dykstra and crafted by KMY without compromise.
BESTEVAER 49 S/Y
The 49 is the perfect fit between the 45 and the 53. She is a very capable world cruising sailboat that can be customized to suit her owner’s needs.
BESTEVAER 53 S/Y
The 53 is perhaps best described by owner and designer Gerard Dykstra; “Designing any boat is a balancing act between many desirable characteristics and inevitably the end-product is a compromise, never perfect in all aspects. However, the Bestevaer comes close to my ideal. The past voyages proved this right.”
Opening yourself up to the world’s extremities and the unknown is easier when you’re at ease. That’s why comfort is a key element. Even the most rugged off-grid adventurer sailboats from Bestevaer offer smooth sailing and comfortable interiors.
No frills, aluminum, rugged pilothouse vessels designed for adventuring. Perhaps the greatest testament to the quality of the Bestevaers is that designer Gerry Dykstra had one built for himself. Easy to recognize in any harbor or under sail, every Bestevaer features a plumb bow, low pilothouse, and a sheer that evokes thoughts of sailing safely offshore.
Aluminum From A to Z
Bestevaer sailboats are built with the highest grade aluminum available. Hull, pilothouse, superstructure as well as interior elements are built with hand shaped aluminum by some of the best craftspeople on the planet. Continuous welds, additional plating, and no FRP are hallmarks of the Bestevaers.
Fully Ballasted Keels
Flexibility in build choices without sacrificing strength is another Bestevaer trademark. Keel choices include a fixed keel or a centerboard keel for serious shoal cruising. Both have nearly a 40 percent ballast ratio, ensuring excellent sailing qualities.
The benefits of a pilothouse are well known, but Bestevaers provide unrivaled security and comfort. These insulated aluminum houses have excellent visibility, keep owners dry underway, and make excellent living spaces while on the hook.
Pure yachting is enjoying an unrivalled connection to the water and the wind. Bestevaers are known for their excellent seafaring performance in any weather condition
Reliability is synonymous with quality in the eyes of the Bestevaer design and build teams. A quality sailboat with every handrail, heating element, and cleat properly placed, is also a safe and reliable boat that provides her owners with comfort at sea.
Building boats with exceptional strength means that each safety measure is carefully considered. Knowing that there are watertight bulkheads fore and aft, integrated chainplates, welded aluminum bollards, integral tanks, and deep cockpits all allow owners to sail with the assurance that they will be safe in even the harshest conditions.
The cockpits are deep and comfortable, creating a safe and secure space to pilot from. Bestevaer cockpits are protected from wind and seas by the pilothouse and all lines are led to the cockpit so the need for going forward in a sea is greatly mitigated.
Each Bestevaer is built to her owners specifications. While spaces on each boat remain the same, the materials used to create the interior feeling are very different. The interior of each Bestevaer is created with the same precision and attention to detail as the hull and all of the systems.
Reliability is imperative when cruising the world seas. It is why quality, craftsmanship, and a relentless eye for detail are an absolute priority in the Bestevaer design and building process.
